Cycling Without Age

Cromarty Care Project received funding from Highland Cross and the Northern Meeting Charity to fund two Cycling Without Age trishaws.

The trishaws enable elderly and frail people to get out and about in the community. Each trishaw has a pilot who cycles and takes two passengers.

This project is entirely run by volunteers, with all journeys being free for passengers. For passengers we wish to improve social interaction and reduce isolation whilst getting out in the fresh air and experiencing the wind in their hair once again.
We plan to take people out on cycles around the town and beyond
and perhaps use as a trike taxi service to the Monday Lunch and
Fourways clubs.

If you would like to volunteer to train as a pilot or you know someone who would benefit from getting out and about as a passenger please contact Shirley Matheson on 01381 600451

or through our Cycling Without Age Cromarty Facebook page.

The weekend of the 22nd and 23rd June 2019 was a busy one for Cromarty Care Project who sent out two teams of volunteers. One team to assist at Highland Cross and one team to take passengers between the gardens at the Cromarty Open Gardens weekend.
